Adopted as an infant and raised in Southern California by loving parents who’d waited three long years for an Italian baby, Cynthia grew up riding horses through the hills of Orange County. Her enthusiasm for both reading and storytelling began early, where, inspired by authors including Stephen King, V.C. Andrews and Dean Koontz, she conjured up elaborate ghost and horse stories for fun.
It was an idyllic childhood until tragedy struck when her mother passed away unexpectedly. Writing then became an escape from the pain of loss. She still describes the feelings of true euphoria, when words are flowing, and she becomes lost in the lives of her characters.
In 2000 a magical twist of fate led her to find her birth family. It was one of those pivotal life-events as, shortly after, while vacationing in New England with her new-found sister, Lesley, the historical beauty of Maine (as well as its literary significance, i.e. Stephen King) inspired her to compose The Bitter Leaves of Autumn.
Today, Cynthia and her husband of 30 years, Ian, along with adorable mutt, Lola, split time between Temescal Valley, California and Lake Havasu, Arizona. While boating, photography and Italian cooking are high on her list of loves, writing remains her true passion.
